sold out

This 7 piece set of high quality carving knives are made from Aogami Blue Paper Steel No. 2, with a hardness over HRC 60. That means the blades get very sharp and can be used for smooth carving with minimal force.

These knives can be used for carving, linocutting or etching, and printmaking. The variety of shapes and sizes offer a wide range of work that can be done. The blades are forged throughout the handle (see picture) and so even as the blade eventually gets shorter from sharpening, the handle can be carved back to expose and use more of the blade.

Set includes:

  • Flat Chisel, 9 mm wide, 210 mm long

  • Skew Chisel, 9 mm wide, 210 mm long

  • U Gouge, 3 mm wide, 210 mm lomg

  • U Gouge, 9 mm wide, 210 mm long

  • V Gouge, 6 mm wide, 210 mm long

  • Shallow U Gouge, 12 mm wide, 200 mm long

  • Scoop Spoon U Gouge, 9 mm wide

The handles are made of Japanese Cypress.
