Slender Japanese Wood Screws
These screws are uniquely designed and manufactured to be used in wood with no pilot holes pre-drilled. Even on thin wood, right at the edge, these screws are designed with special slits at the tip and underneath the head of the screw. This design relieves pressure and allows the screw to enter wood with minimal pressure, greatly reducing the chance of the wood splitting, even with no pilot hole. Ideally driven with a JIS (Japanese standard) driver, they work fine with an American #8 as well. Designed for interior use, they are great for furniture or anything you make from wood. We used these for all the fixtures in our shop when we put it up last year. These screws will save a ton of time and energy as you build!
